Barrio Logan Portraits
A good image can stand the test of time. Barrio Logan is an amazing place to see and photograph if you like street and genuine culture that is not "corporate" in anyway. These images I have revisited just to see how my images have stood the test of time. 2011 I met these two cool folk for one of my first engagement shoot in the heart Barrio Logan, San Diego. Even back then I had zero interest in being your typical wedding photographer, you know the ones that says "moment drive" when they don't have any true moments on show or know how to capture them, or the band-waggoners jumping on planes to Iceland to get that shot like the other 20 thousand photographers have. I could go on, for real. It's such a lame industry that is full of sheep shooting the same boring crap week in week out and taking a pretty decent pay for it. They give you nothing fresh just the newest pop image that they copied from another wedding photographers blog/instagram/whatever. My point is anyone can pick up a camera and shoot the the fads of the time, it's like tracing paper and original artwork. But when you start to look back, you start to see these sheep for what they're, crap photographers without vision shooting whatever is popular at the time. It looks pretty bad now. I shoot my way, I want to produce the original artwork, not be the guy with the tracing paper "crafting away" and I hope that by shooting my way and constantly pushing my own boundaries in photography and truly understanding photography that I can attract a clientele that can see what it is to be genuine, original and raw and above everything else, to be able to see what it is to be a PHOTOGRAPHER with passion for PHOTOGRAPHY. So please enjoy these images taken way back in 2011 before Wall-Mart got a hold of the community of Barrio Logan and renewed this building, and before the beautifully weather-worn pastel wall was pained over in a banal brown, yuck, and remember a good image will always be a good image, but a fad is just passing by.
